Fall Visit TipsThousands of families and groups visit Tuttles each fall. At Tuttles, we want you to have the best fall experience on the farm that you can. Here are some tips to help you have a great experience. What can we do?When Should We Visit?Want to pick apples? September...any time after Labor Day weekend. Apples are at their height of taste and ripeness in September. Find out when your favorite variety will be ripe. Want to pick pumpkins? October....Our pumpkin patch is open October 1-31. Pre-picked pumpkins are available typically by mid-September if the weather is agreeable. Want a fast moving festival environment? Saturday...offers the most activities and a very busy environment. The busiest days are typically the last Saturday in September and the first two Saturdays in October. Want a quieter experience? Early on a Saturday (9-11AM) or 2-6PM weekdays....the crowds are less, and we can give more personalized attention during those times. When NOT to visit: Sunday....we are closed. Since we're still a family farm, we find we and our employees must have a day to rest and worship with their families. It helps us serve you better and have energy to keep growing great apples. Getting Here:Directions we've tested. Recommended over GPS or Mapquest. Before You Come:Dress for fun, outdoor environment. Tennis shoes and casual clothes are best. Dress for the weather...which could mean sunscreen or a hat and gloves. Bring your camera. Photo opportunities are endless. Info about our photo contest. Feel free to bring a sack lunch or snack. We have plenty of picnic areas or if it's Saturday enjoy lunch at the Tuttle's Food Stand. We find most families spend several hours at the orchard so plan to arrive early enough to do all the activities you want. Affordable Fun: We strive to make a family visit to Tuttles affordable. There is no general admission charge or a parking fee. Our corn maze and play area admissions are very reasonable...only $2/person. Form of payment. We accept cash, check, Visa, Mastercard, Discover. Make a day of it: area restaurants, attractions, and accommodations. Bringing a group? Information for groups and tours. Things we provide: Bags and baskets for picking. Wagons for u-pick apples and pumpkins (unless you prefer to use yours...we have red wagons you can borrow at no charge). Can I bring my pet?We don't recommend it. Here's why: Due to USDA regulations, no pets or animals are allowed into any growing areas (ie. apple orchards, pumpkin patch, corn maze, kid's play area, etc.). Due to health department regulations, we cannot allow any pets except certified service dogs into the farm store. With this in mind, we find families have a better experience if your pets stays home. Otherwise, one person has to stay in the parking lot with your pet while everyone else has fun. Weather:In farming, we say weather is name of the game. We all wish for nice sunny days every day of the fall season, but sometimes it can be cold or rainy. Our farm store is always open with apples and pre-picked pumpkins (in October) for your convenience. However, the apple orchard, corn maze, and pumpkin patch are typically not closed for weather conditions. Just bring your raincoat and some shoes that you don't mind getting muddy. For your safety, the kid's play area and hayrides are sometimes closed if it is raining. After Your VisitLet the fun continue by making a favorite apple treats.
