Summer Events and Activities

Summer is the time at Tuttle's where we enjoy lots and lots good summer produce.

Pick-your-Own:

Pick your own Greenbeans is a great activity for the whole family. Available July-August as crop ripens.

Pick Your Own Blackberries is available some years if the crop is sufficient.

Picnic at the Orchard:

popular with many families. Bring your food an enjoy a picnic lunch.

In the Farm Store:

Our Farm Store is brimming with fresh picked produce including:

Tomatoes as early as June 1st!

Our Award Winning Sweet Corn

Peaches from Indiana and South Carolina orchards.

Other Tuttle's grown produce including: zucchini, summer squash, peppers, cabbage, cucumbers, canetloupe, watermelon, blackberries, green beans, onions, etc.

In the Orchard:

The summer is the time when the apples are growing. However, some varieties are ready for harvesting in late summer (July/August). These summer varieties (Lodi, Early Blaze, Ginger Gold, Paula Red, Ozark Gold) are available in our store. Pick your own apples begins in September with the fall varieties.

In the Greenhouses:

Zinnias are blooming.

At Farmers Markets:

Find us at these local farmers markets this summer season:

Geist Farmers Market: Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 2:30-6:30PM, Oaklandon Road and Fox Road.

Other Events:

Milk Can Dinner: Date TBD

Peach Ice Cream Day is very popular. Check back for specific date for this year.

Indiana State Fair: Look for Tuttle's produce in the Ag/Hort Building. It's a family tradition to enter our apples and vegetables in the State Fair to see how we compete with other growers.
